Biography |
| Jeff Eastman received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana. He received a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Cornell University in 1985. He then spent two years as an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max-Plank-Institut für Metallforschung in Stuttgart, Germany, where he investigated the structure of metal-ceramic interfaces. In 1987 he joined the Materials Science Division of Argonne National Laboratory. His research at Argonne has focused on the structure and properties of nanocrystalline materials, and on x-ray scattering studies of oxide and nitride thin films. |
