Target Area
A view showing multiple beam lines in the accelerator target area.
These vacuum lines lead either to one of the two microscopes or to
specimen chambers. Experiments not using a microscope
are carried out in these chambers.

The accelerators are located on the second floor of G-wing, building 212. To get ion beams down to the microscope
on the first floor their path is changed by using an electrostatic deflector like
this one installed in the IVEM beam line.
