The Odin I Beowulf Cluster was installed in November 1999 and upgraded in September 2002 in the Interfacial Materials Group of the Materials Science Division of Argonne National Laboratory.  It consists of a total of 37 nodes:

one control node - a dual-processor Pentium III 1GHz machine with 512MB RAM.  It has an extrawide fast SCSI controller connected to 4 fast 18GB hard drives which act as the main file system.  It also has a floppy drive, a CD-writer, a Zip drive and a 70GB tape drive for backups.

four additional wordly front-end nodes -  single processor Pentium III 1GHz machines with 128MB of RAM and 13GB hard drive.
32 compute nodes -  1GHz Pentium III machines with 128MB RAM and 13GB hard drive.

The Odin I cluster as a whole has over 4.5GB of RAM and 550GB of disk space

The system is running under Linux (Red Hat 6.1), Portland Group Fortran, Pentium Compiler Group Fortran, and MPI.
