Russell Cook is a member of the Electron Microscopy Center for Materials Research (EMC), in which he specializes in the application of analytical electron microscopy techniques to materials characterization. He earned BS and MS degrees in physics from the University of Rochester and a PhD in metallurgical and materials engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a member of the American Ceramic Society and the Microscopy Society of America. His research interests are in the correlation of microstructure and physical properties, functional ceramics, mixed-conducting oxides (complex oxides), and mechanical properties.
